We stopped here for a couple of beers and a late lunch before a wedding in Montgomery Center. Service was quick and super friendly. Similar to most Vermont spots, the venue has a rustic vibe to it with string lights and wood paneling and a fire place. We had the steak and cheese and poutine fries with gravy and cheese. It was really good. Prices were affordable. I'd recommend it for a pit stop on the way to Jay's Peak.

This is a great place if you need a stay over or a quick bite. Peter and his crew are top notch in my book. Thanks again for everything.

For a low-key bar after a long day on the the mountain, this works. You will run into quite a few locals, some low-key, some loud, all were nice. For the food, the classics, burgers, wings, fish and chips and others are served with some tasty waffle fries. The pub staff is friendly at The Snowshoe, in this throwback of a watering hole.

Yes, the rooms aren't the lap of luxury but I was only charged $30 a night - wasn't expecting much. Bathroom light didn't work (a red heated one did) and the balcony doorknob was busted - other than that it's a place to sleep. The pub is great - live music on weekends, very good pub fare and pool tables and a good jukebox in the back room. Great bartenders and all of the locals were friendly.

I will never forget having just a single pint at the Snowshoe Pub up in the Northern Kingdom of VT.

Rooms are absolutely disgusting, the hallway to the room smells, the room smells, we found hair in the beds, I wonder about bed bugs. The tv doesn't work, they had one coat hanger. I wonder if they ever wash the sheets or towels, anyone that sleeps here must have extremely low standards. Only thing I can give them props for is that they gave us our money back with no questions asked. I'm pretty sure they know what they got there, so they won't argue with you. As far as the bar, not bad, I didn't try the food figuring if the rooms were that bad, I'm sure the kitchen has to be 3 or 4x worse. Don't stay here unless you have no other choice and don't care about sleeping in someone else's filth. Sorry for the bad review Snowshoe, but buy a vacuum cleaner and a washer and dryer and use them everyday.

Let me just say something. This bar sucks. It's totally outdated and dirty. The bartender acts like he's some big swinging dick when he's just a dick. If you like being told where you can and cant put your beer every 5 minutes then go. If you like having fun and picking up bitches, don't go! I would never return to this shithole especially since the live music is a bunch of freekin rejects. If you ever seen the movie "Encino Man" then all I gotta say is "The Cheese is Old and Moldy"!!!

Came up to Jay the other week and we decided to crash at the Snowshoe for a few days. The rooms? Probably about 2 stars. Its a room to sleep in, and that's about it. The place isn't overly clean or put together, but I wasn't too grossed out staying there either. The shower backs up and runs out of hot water after about 10-15 minutes (which can be a problem depending how many people are crashing there). The beds are pretty much just mattresses on boxsprings on the floor, but it works as a place to rest your head for a night or two. Oh, and the towels look like they were purchased in the late 70s and haven't been replaced since. So, all in all, after a long day of skiing or riding, its a good place to just sleep on the cheap, but that's about it. As for the pub downstairs? Probably about 4.5 stars. It was fantastic. I mean, its not world-class or anything, but its exactly what you'd want if you find yourself in the greater Jay area. A local pub with local brews serving some pretty good food. I had a couple burgers here on various nights and each time they were very well cooked and put together and really hit the spot. The bartender and servers were all very friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a place to grab a pint and a bite, don't hesitate to stop in here. I know I'll likely be back!

This bar is a ton of fun and is really the only place to go out in the Jay Peak area, and I think that's awesome. Too many resorts like $towe and Kmart have dozens and dozens of bad tourists bars that and put togeather and have little character. Gramps grunts is upstairs 30 bucks to crash. I hope this place and Jay never change.

I've been crashing at the Snowshoe just as long as i've been skiing at Jay Peak. My ski buddy and I discovered it a few years back. Along side Jay peak, its pretty much a hidden jewel of North East Kingdom of VT. So what makes the SSL&P so great? Its probably the most unpretencious bar you've ever been to. It's filled with friendly locals that drive up in they're snowmobiles. The rooms are 35$ a night per person. The food is downright amazing for being in the middle of no where. Trust I've eaten at a few other spots in the North East Kingdom and the Shoe holds its down. They have amazing wings, great burgers, good pizzas and descent calzones. Everything is reasonably prices and the beer is CHEAP. They'll make you a mixed drink in a pint glass ( a personal favorite.) I'm probably gonna kick myself for writing this review as it been getting tougher and tougher to get a reservation there but this place is too amazing not to share with my fellow yelpers...
